Privacy Policy
On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect. The GDPR
was introduced to make sure that we secure and take good care of your personal data.
In this Privacy Statement we will explain what ‘personal data’ means, tell you what is meant with
‘processing personal data’, to which ends we use your personal data, what your rights are, how
we will protect (the processing) of your personal data, how long your personal data will be stored,
how you can get insight in which personal data we have of you and how you can object.
This privacy statement applies when you visit one of our websites, sign up for our newsletters,
participate in an event (physical or virtual), leave your contact details with one of our
representatives during events or meetings, or enter an agreement or contract.
What is personal data?
Personal data is all data that holds information about you and with which you are directly or
indirectly identifiable. This definition provides for a wide range of personal identifiers to constitute
personal data, including name, e-mail, company name, phone number and online identifiers.
When do we collect your personal data?
We collect your personal data from the moment you enter or leave your information on our
website, register for one of our events, participate in a session, or when you enter an agreement
or contract with the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation.
What personal data do we collect and process?
We collect and process personal data that is necessary to provide you with information about our
projects and services. This may include name and address information, company information and
other identifiable information, as outlined above. Additionally, any information you supply, such as
comments, survey responses and personal interest preferences may also be stored, unless
indicated otherwise.
With ‘processing of your personal data’ means the collection, recording, organisation, structuring,
storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission,
dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or
destruction of personal data.
Why do we collect and process your personal data?
We collect and process your personal information, since processing is necessary for the purposes
of your the legitimate interests pursued by the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation in compliance
with Article. 6 GDPR (Lawfulness of processing), section 1.f). We process your personal data for
the following reasons:
• to be able to contact you
• to be able to prepare and file quotations and agreements
• to be able to inform you about relevant events, based on your enquiries
• to be able to inform you about any news about the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation events
• to be able to send you newsletters – if you already have consented to that.
Besides the above-mentioned reasons, the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation processes your
personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to improve our service, to
handle complaints and prevent fraud.
By no means will we ever sell your personal information to third parties.
The Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation has appropriate Data Processing Agreements with any third
party that it shares data with when that third party is a Processor as defined by Article 28 of the
GDPR.
We mention that the provision of your personal data is not a statutory or contractual requirement
and that you are not obliged to provide the personal data. However, without the data we will not
be able to enter into any contract with you, nor will we be able to contact you for the purposes
mentioned above.
With whom can we share your personal data?
The Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation may share your personal data with other entities and
partners that provide services for the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation.
We work with international partners (EU and non-EU residing) and therefore we may share your
information within and also outside the Netherlands. The Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation has
taken the necessary precautions to ensure that the sent and shared information is protected
properly.
Your data will be stored within the HubSpot platform within the EU. Details of the HubSpot Data

How long can we store your information?
We store your personal information no longer than is required for the execution of the purposes of
the services. You may request we delete any information about you that we do not have to keep
for legal purposes.
How do we secure the protection of your personal data?
The Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation has taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of your
personal data. In order to prevent unauthorised access or unauthorised disclosure of your
personal information, we have implemented appropriate electronic and administrative procedures
to protect and secure the personal information we have collected, online and offline.
To protect your personal data, we use up-to-date and approved security software such as virus
scanners and firewalls, as well as passwords for electronic systems, secured internet
connections, back-up capabilities and encryption.
What are your rights?
You can access your personal data by clicking on the link in the footer of every email we send.
You can also send an e-mail to dpo@sustainablescale-up.com to request the use of your personal
data, as stated in Article 15 GDPR.
We mention that you have the following rights:
• of access
• of correction
• of erasure
• to be forgotten
• of restriction of processing
• to object to processing
• of data-portability
• to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority.
Besides the right to access your personal data, you also have the right to object (Article 21
GDPR), the right to rectification of your personal data (Article 16 GDPR) as well as the right to
erasure (‘right to be forgotten’, Article 17 GDPR). You can update or remove your personal data at
any time by clicking the link in our emails or by contacting us on the address below.
We will not use the data for automated decision-making, including profiling.
To safeguards these rights, the Sustainable Scale-Up Foundation has installed a Privacy Data
