Fundraising Gala – Global Ecosystem Foundation: Cutting Edge Conservation

This event is presented by The Global Ecosystem Foundation based in the Netherlands, in association with VIVIDPRIVÉ a South African based luxury marketing and events specialist company with a global network. The event and foundation is supported by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and a range of international partners and investors, and forms part of a new global series of fundraising events and NFT projects to be rolled out in 2023 and beyond.

This partnership is not only multi-talented but also committed to making a difference in the world of wildlife conservation by supporting cutting-edge new wildlife conservation programs and technologies, with the aim of raising the necessary funds to help eradicate the massive global animal trafficking problem which is prevalent more than ever today.

WHAT WE ARE RAISING FUNDS FOR

This first event in a series of international events scheduled to take place in Europe in 2023 and beyond, will raise funds for the worlds first forensic academy focused on wildlife, in association with the Forensic Wildlife Fund.

Wildlife crime is the biggest form of organized crime after drugs, arms and human trafficking estimated to turn over more than US $25 billion annually. Wildlife crime scenes originate in remote places with no witnesses and witness statements. The only way we can solve these crimes is through forensic evidence from the crime scene.

Due to a lack of forensic knowledge wildlife rangers, veterinarians and police officers enter the scene and destroy important evidence, made worse by poverty and a number of other contributing factors.

The Wildlife Forensic Academy’s mission is to protect and preserve the African ecosystem through education, innovation and state-of-the-art technology. It aims to raise awareness and mobilize enthusiasm for a global call-to-action.

Founded in early 2022, the Academy consists of a state-of-the-art 1000 m 2 experience laboratory based in Buffelsfontein an hour out of Cape Town, and is a simulation of the wildlife criminal justice chain. The principle of the concept is learning by experiencing.

In the Academy there are multiple crime scenes such as: a rhino, a lion and a giraffe, a poachers tent, a vehicle and a complete furnished house. There is also a forensic laboratory, a court house and an observation room. All crime scenes are equipped with sensor and camera technology which enables lecturers to monitor on screens and record how learners perform on a crime scene.

THE EVENT

The event with its series of well put together interactive experiences such as African music, drumming, dancing and face painting combined with a gourmet African-themed dinner under the stars, with wine pairings and a silent auction, will make the plight of the Wildlife Forensic Academy tangible for the guests in attendance. A snapshot into the world of these mighty animals, along with the tireless work performed by everyone involved in the Wildlife Forensic Academy will help people understand better how they can help this growing worldwide problem.
